Unlike the first image the dominant lines are horizontal and continuous and the visual weight of each line is the same. These elements create a calming, stable feeling in the image. The visual surface is gently textured with many short lines connecting the longer horizontal ones which produces a painterly quality. In this image the blue color reinforces the calm feeling produced by the horizontal lines.
